Spring Alive!

Ages 8-14 | March 24-28
Registration Opens February 10 at 5pm

Inspired by the vibrance of growing plant life and bird activity, we are excited to offer our new Spring break camp: Spring Alive!

This softer skills camp will focus on relationality and deeper connection and awareness, reflected in the new growth and life around us on the land. We will explore many avenues of connection with the land, including plant medicines, art-making, naturalist nerd-ing and as always, an abundance of forest fun and games. The aim is to build a deeper sense of belonging, and develop new skills for self-regulation in nature. We hope you can join us!

Over the week we will:

  • Explore the land as we practice nature awareness + play fun games

  • Listen deeply to the natural world, as we develop our Naturalist knowledge of the plants + birds we share this land with

  • Learn about honourable harvesting + how to be in reciprocity with our plant kin

  • Get to know wild edible + medicinal plants

  • Create art with new plant allies through eco-printing, plant dyes + inks

  • Make plant medicines e.g. salves, tinctures (maybe to start your very own herbal first-aid kit?!)

  • Make new friends (human & non-human)!

  • Curriculum

Take a more in-depth look at our forest school and wilderness awareness curriculum to see what skills and experiences your child can expect to learn.

“Thank you for all the thought and care you put into making this week so special for the kiddos. You went over and above and the extra attention you gave the kids was phenomenal. What you offer is a truly unique experience and so valuable. You gave them boundaries to keep their bodies and minds safe, but freedom to explore and express themselves. I am so grateful!”

“This program lets [my daughter] be her wild self, without school teachers or parents. I really value the style of mentoring and the guidance it gives while still maintaining each individual’s needs and ideas.”

  • Thriving Roots Parent

“My daughter’s confidence has really grown in the past few years in these programs. It has really helped her socially, in part because of the multi-age environment. Her knowledge of the outdoors becomes deeper each year, and her ability to express it and teach others is so amazing! This program let’s her be her wild self, without school teachers or parents. I really value the style of mentoring and the guidance it gives while still maintaining each individual’s needs and ideas.”
