Coyote Mentoring Training

  • Cedar Song Centre for Wild Belonging 119 Ross Durrance Road Victoria, BC, V9E 2A3 Canada (map)

After 4 years of reflection & inquiry, our Coyote Mentoring Training is back!

We’re back! After years of reflection and renewal, we’re adding new layers and context to our popular training in nature-based education, facilitation and parenting. The weekend will be packed with valuable experiential models, skills, engaging lectures, storytelling, resources and PLAY that we can't wait to share with you. You’ll discover:

  • A multilayered map of natural learning frameworks, brain patterning and eco soul-centric development (8 Shields & Animas Valley)

  • Tools for engaging our senses and expanding awareness in a screen-dominated world, and how this contributes to more aliveness, critical thinking and problem-solving.

  • How place-based cultural tools like stories, songs, and other artistic expressions open a doorway to inspiration and learning

  • Ways to use expressive art as therapy and regulation

  • Approaches to fostering curiosity and maintaining engaged inquiry throughout a learning journey

  • How nature connection can be a valuable pathway to decolonizing ourselves and our education system

Cultural design to transform learning:

  • You’ll get an inside look at our unique, trauma-informed approach to nature connection mentoring that we use in our programs every day.

  • You’ll experience cultural re-design first-hand and we'll discuss how we might hold strong in an evermore disconnected world... How do we raise and educate youth to remain rooted in the land, in their bodies, in community?

Coyote Mentoring Training is for EDUCATORS who want to spice up their approach to teaching in and outside of the classroom;  PARENTS who want hacks for inspiring their kids to be outside;  STUDENTS, aspiring mentors, educators or  COUNSELLORS; and people who love the outdoors, BACKPACKERSGUIDESHUNTERS who want to learn dynamic facilitation skills.

We hope you can join us.

Date/Time: Friday, October 18 @ 6pm - Sunday, October 20 @ 4pm.

The workshop is a full weekend, overnight training. You are encouraged to camp on the land and stay overnight. The community atmosphere is part of the experience and the programming will continue into the late evening with meals and time around the fire together. However, we understand staying overnight isn’t possible for everyone so you are also welcome to go home after dinner, if needed.
